AUS vs IND: Sanjana Ganesan praises Jasprit Bumrah’s ‘booty’ful spell in Perth

India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah was at his absolute best on Day 1 of the 1st Test against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Fans and experts alike were in awe of Bumrah’s sheer brilliance with the ball . Bumrah’s wife and broadcaster Sanjana Ganesan also praised Bumrah’s contribution on Day 1 of the 1st Test. Sanjana opted for a unique way to laud Bumrah’s spell, which managed to turn the tide in India’s favour.
Sanjana took to her Instagram story to praise her husband’s spell. However, she had a cheeky way to do so as she captioned the post, “Great bowler, even greater booty.” Bumrah led India’s charge from the front as he ended Day 1 with four wickets to his name. India were bundled out for a paltry total of 150 runs after opting to bat first.
AUS vs IND 1st Test, Day 1 Highlights
Jasprit Bumrah’s triple strike left Australia gasping as they lost Nathan McSweeney, Usmana Khawaja and Steve Smith in no time. Bumrah led India’s fightback as Day 1 witnessed 17 wickets falling, the most that have fallen on a single day in Australia.
All 17 wickets fell to seamers on a lively Perth Stadium pitch that offered movement from start. The ball swung both ways, and the pitch only seemed to quicken as the day progressed. India, after opting to bat first, were bowled out for 150, with Josh Hazlewood leading the charge with a four-wicket haul. India managed to reach the total due to a counterattacking 48-run partnership between Rishabh Pant and debutant Nitish Reddy for the seventh wicket.
In response, Jasprit Bumrah came out firing. Even after his spell, the Australian batters couldn’t breathe easy, as Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj continued to exploit the conditions to great effect. Despite being bowled out for just 150, India somehow finished the day on top, with their seamers making an impression in conditions that clearly suited them.
